Add certificates to Linux ICA client

3/6/09 2:19 PM
Quick demo of how to instruct Citrix Linux ICA client to trust additional certificate authorities. This step may be necessary when you get an error message similar to "You have chosen not to trust "Thawte Premium Server CA", the issuer of the server's security certificate (SSL error 61)." This demo uses Ubuntu as an example. Please see my other demos for how to install and use Linux ICA client. See my blog for more information http://community.citrix.com/blogs/citrite/ruiguoy/2009/03/10/Demo+Video+How+to+Add+Certificates+to+Citrix+Linux+Client+%28plugin%29+for+XenApp

Notes:
  • Because my internal server uses a certificate authority that is not trusted by default, I will get an error
  • Goto the folder where trusted certificate authorities are stored /usr/lib/ICAClient/keystore/cacerts
  • I have downloaded the root certificate from my server administrator and saved it on my desktop
  • Copy the certificate to the certificate store location. If the certificate has .cer extension, rename the extension to .crt
  • Start client again. Now the published applications should show up.
